Shahram Amiri to Design the Trophy for the Iran Open-Air International Film Festival

 

Shahram Amiri, a veteran figure in the visual arts, will design the trophy for the Iran Open-Air International Film Festival.

In a meeting with Saeed Nejati, the founder and chairman of the Iran Open-Air International Film Festival; Siavash Cheraghipour, the director; and Mahmoud Farzinejad, a researcher, theater and film director, as well as a folk music singer, the features and design of the trophy for the National Open-Air Film Festival were discussed.

Shahram Amiri, the creator of the trophy for the inaugural edition of this event, was born in October 1968. He is a skilled artist specializing in various art forms, including marquetry, wood carving, filigree, sculpture, and painting. Amiri holds a first-degree art certificate, equivalent to a doctorate, in wood carving and volumetric art, and a second-degree art certificate, equivalent to a master’s degree, in marquetry. Additionally, he has earned a first-degree certificate in sculpture and has received honorary doctorates from institutions in the Philippines and Belarus.

Amiri has previously been recognised with titles such as “Top Artist of Tehran Province” and a “Distinguished Figure in Labor and Production.” Amiri’s notable works include “Adamizad” (Humankind), created using marquetry techniques and designed by Master Mahmoud Farshchian; “Blade and Feather”, which combines marquetry and volumetric techniques; “Ocean”, crafted with marquetry on glass; “Autumn”, made with intricate marquetry techniques; and “Dream of Flight”, brought to life through wood carving techniques.

The first edition of the Iran Open-Air International Film Festival, organized by the Moj Fakhte Art Institute, will be held in Lahijan in May 2025.
